Privacy Policy

Template notice. This policy is a drafting template provided for information only. It is not legal advice. Have a qualified attorney review and adapt it before publishing.

1. Who we are

Make Life A Game ("we", "us") operates makelifeagame.com, an educational website about how casino card games, table games, dice games and slot machines work. We do not offer real-money gambling, process payments, or operate user accounts.

2. Categories of personal information we collect

  • Identifiers and contact data: name and email address entered in the contact form. The current demo form does not send or store this information.
  • Communications content: the subject and message you send us.
  • Internet and device activity: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring URL, pages viewed and time on page.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: analytics identifiers set by our analytics provider.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, financial account details, precise geolocation, or information from anyone under 18.

3. How we use this information

  • To respond to questions, corrections and other messages you send us.
  • To measure aggregate site traffic and improve our articles.
  • To maintain site security and prevent abuse.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

4. Do we sell or share personal information?

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months.

If this ever changes — for example if we introduce advertising technology — we will update this policy and provide a functioning "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism before any such activity begins.

5. Service providers

We disclose limited personal information to service providers who process it on our behalf and only for our stated purposes: website hosting and content delivery, web analytics. These providers are bound by contract to use the information only to perform services for us.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the site and, where enabled, analytics cookies to understand how pages are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid opt-out request where applicable.

7. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and to request a copy of it.
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither).
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it).
  • Non-discrimination — we will never deny service, charge a different price, or provide a lesser experience because you exercised a privacy right.

To exercise a right, use our contact page. The current form is a demo and does not send requests; a working privacy request channel must be provided before publishing. We will respond within 45 days of receiving a valid request, extendable once by a further 45 days where permitted. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission.

8. Other state privacy rights

Residents of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws, and individuals in the EEA or UK, may have comparable rights of access, correction, deletion and portability. Use the contact page noted above and we will handle your request under the law that applies to you once a working request channel is available.

9. Data retention

The current contact form does not send or store messages. Analytics data, if collected, is retained in aggregated form according to our analytics provider's default retention period.

10. Security

We use HTTPS across the site, restrict access to submitted messages to those who need it, and review our providers' security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a reasonable period.

13. Contact

For privacy requests or general enquiries, see our contact page. The form is a demo and cannot receive requests yet.
